There is a misconception that the biggest danger on the battlefield is a rifle in the hands of the enemy. Rather, it is the explosives, traps, and IEDs that are laid all over that can create relatively small but devastating wounds. The Full Armor System is there for this reason exactly. With its complete coverage, the FAS will increase the protection area by roughly 520% compared to a regular battle vest. And, this all comes at a relatively small weight, averaging as much as a single steel plate. In total, eight FAS™ modules can be used either independently or with each other, depending on the needs of the mission and the operator. These modules protect three major vital areas:
  1. Neck, shoulders, and clavicle bones
  2. Lateral protection for vital organs
  3. Pelvis, hips, and femoral arteries
Although it is impossible to have hard armor plates all over the body due to mobility restrictions, many of the flat panels in the FAS™ system can use plates. But, this is not always necessary as all explosive shrapnel can be stopped by light and soft armor panels or bulletproof ballistic vests. Those looking to buy auxiliary armor are in luck because all of the modules with such a tactical setup are for sale separately. Depending on the type of mission you can adjust the suit to be lightweight and quick for police and SWAT purposes or have the highest protection from explosives for the military.

What is Protected by the Full Armor System?

Basically, everything that is important. While the system won’t protect every single inch of your body, the goal is to keep you mobile and out of real life-threatening injuries at all times. Even if the worst happens you will be stable until help arrives. Additionally, you should retain some of the fighting ability even when injured, as well as your consciousness. Because of this your shoulders and upper arms will be protected, even with plates if necessary. Ideally, this will keep your arms active and you will be able to support your brothers and sisters in arms to the best of your ability. Also, you may need to cover your medic while they are assisting your situation in general.

Allows You to Stay Mobile

While it is true that technological advancements with body armor have come a long way, the best defensive strategy when under fire is still to simply not get shot. And for that, you will need to stay mobile. With the FAS™ system, there are no compromises. The whole modular setup is made to be perfectly balanced and weighs only as much as a single steel plate. For most soldiers and professional operators, this increase in weight will be virtually negligible. Also, you don’t need to carry all of the modules into every mission and any type of combat. If you wish to retain even more of your mobility, you can always use only the parts that will protect the most important vitals, such as the torso or the femoral arteries. But, as more modules also benefit your utility and the number of places you can attach auxiliary gear, it might be better to have more than fewer, especially if they add to your camo.

Explosive Protection

Explosives are, by far, the biggest killer on the battlefield. This is mostly because, unlike soldiers, they don’t feel, care, or fall under stress. Once you trigger the bomb it goes off and shoots shrapnel in all directions. This is why FAS™ is specifically designed to protect from attacks coming in from various vectors. Because the armor is symmetrical, you will be protected both from attacks coming from above as well as those that are laid into the ground. Finally, the soft armor is more than enough to stop any kind of shrapnel, frag, or flying debris that may come from buildings and other structures. The panels are made to stop the projectiles entirely and let you continue the mission uninterrupted.

Domestic Situations

Finally, aside from army and military applications of the FAS™, which are plentiful, there are also domestic and law enforcement applications. This is mainly because, unlike on the battlefield, you don’t want to endure any injuries when you are simply doing your job. The additional coverage provided by the system is ideal for urban engagements. When you are clearing narrow corridors and tight spaces it is important to have modules for your stomach and groin that will prevent shotgun and pistol rounds from injuring any of the operators. And, once you know that you are protected in the field you will be more effective with your job and able to act more decisively when needed.
